Meet the nurses from this location:

MARILYN A. DE LUCA, PhD, RN

Dr. DeLuca is a Consultant in Health Care and Philanthropy with expertise in global and domestic health systems strengthening and health care workforce. She holds faculty positions at New York University as both an adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, College of Nursing and as Research Assistant Professor, School of Medicine.  Dr DeLuca served as lead organizer and Co-Chair of the October 2011 Global Summit: Strengthening 21st Century Global Health Systems. The current focus of her work centers on building the global healthcare workforce. She frequently lectures on health care workforce, health systems and public-private partnerships for social change.

As founding Executive Director of the Jonas Center, Dr. DeLuca led philanthropic programs specific to strengthen professional nursing in the U.S. and included grant programs and initiatives to inform policymakers and the public on issues challenging nursing, most notably a major televised program and a Summit on Capital Hill, Washington, DC.

Dr DeLuca practiced and held leadership roles in critical care and health systems management in the Veterans Health Administration including as Chief Operations Officer of the NY/NJ Network.

She holds a Masters in Public Administration and a Masters in Nursing from NYU and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College, CUNY.  She earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration with a concentration in comparative health systems and reform politics Robert F Wagner School of Public Service, NYU. Her dissertation examines the impact of market-based reform models on national health systems.
