Mercy Medical Center was founded in 1920 by the Sisters of Mercy to provide quality healthcare for the whole person regardless of socioeconomic status, race or ability to pay. The mission is to nurture the healing ministry of the church by bringing it new life, energy and viability in the 21st century.
Mercy is part of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a national non-profit health organization with headquarters in Englewood, Colorado.
